I began playing
guitar somewhere around the 8th grade and purchased
my first guitar by washing dishes at a local
steakhouse. I've listened and played to all kinds of
music throughout my career but the blues have always
been my passion. I would spend many nights listening
to artists like Albert King, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy
and Freddie King. All masters of the guitar, I knew
my musical journey had now begun.
I started by asking every guitar player I knew "How
are you doing this lick or that chord progression? "
by the end of high school I was on the bandstand
full time playing any gig thrown my way.
I have traveled all over the United States and
Europe playing guitar for audiences ranging from
small clubs to full concert venues. I most recently
played at the Chicago Blues Fest on the Front Porch
Stage with Gloria Thompson Rogers. I am currently
playing guitar for
The Jay Walkers Jam Band, the Gloria Thompson
Rogers band, and I am the band director and
guitarist for the
SoPro Blues Revue.
I'm still infatuated with the musical journey and am
always open for what ever the musical challenge may
bring.
